Hope & Craft Creations began with our family.
Like many families, our lives include work, school, celebrations, challenges, and everyday moments that become lasting memories. Our journey changed when our daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
Suddenly, blood sugar checks, insulin, medical supplies, school planning, nighttime alerts, continuous glucose monitors, and insulin pumps became part of everyday life.
We learned how to manage Type 1 diabetes while helping our daughter understand that her diagnosis did not change who she was. She was still the same strong, intelligent, loving, and courageous child.
We saw something missing.
As parents, we struggled to find meaningful Type 1 diabetes products created especially for children and families. We wanted balloons for diagnosis anniversaries, encouraging gifts, personalized keepsakes, awareness items, and products that could help children feel supported and celebrated.
We wanted children living with Type 1 diabetes to understand that there is nothing wrong with them. They are strong. They are brave. They can participate, celebrate, dream, and accomplish their goals.
Understanding the journey.
Our Type 1 diabetes journey has taken us beyond managing numbers and medical devices.
We visited Canada so our daughter could learn more about the history of insulin and understand the importance of the discoveries that changed life for people with diabetes.
We wanted her to see how far diabetes care has come and understand that researchers around the world continue working toward better treatments and, one day, a cure.
For our family, the visit represented education, courage, gratitude, and hope.
